Frigid Wisconsin winters and the craving for palm trees and pelicans, Peter & Erin Janus moved to sunny St. Petersburg, Florida in 2004. Peter always enjoyed making handmade items, but had no idea how much the new tropical terrain would spark his artistic imagination.
In 2007 he created his first acrylic panting. His first painting became several and evolved into tropical and character creations. A far cry from his past experience selling collectible toys, baseball cards and handyman services.
When he found out Erin was pregnant with their daughter Mikal, Peter took House of Love to another level. Since the birth of their daughter in 2013, Peter has opened 11 House of Love outlets throughout the state of Florida. He also wholesales product along the Eastern U.S. Customers enjoy our eclectic import jewelry, tropical home decor and bohemian accessories in person and online.
Peter keeps dreaming up new creations. Future plans include handmade signs, custom work, and the expansion of Operation Free Cross.
